We’re officially rolling out support for SNMP within Syncro, allowing you to monitor your customer’s network assets side-by-side with their RMM assets. Best of all, there are no additional agents to install, requirements to meet, or additional fees you have to pay. Simply select the RMM Asset to use as your network monitoring agent, add your network devices, and you’ll be up and running in no time.
SNMP Assets function much like RMM Assets, in that they can be associated with tickets, throw alerts, and run through our Automated Remediation module. They even support custom types and custom fields, just like our RMM assets.
If you find you’re using a particular set of OIDs quite frequently, we’ve introduced the concept of OID Recipes. These are reusable templates you can create that allow you to store any number of OIDs scoped to a particular SNMP Asset type, like Printers, and then load them all into a new SNMP Asset with the click of a button.
Lastly, in a nod to our absolutely stellar Syncro community who are always willing to take time out of their busy schedules to help one another, we’ve added a feature to make that even easier. You can enable public link sharing on any of your OID recipes. This will generate a link you can share with other MSPs in the Syncro community. Clicking that link will load the contents of the recipe automatically, allowing you to modify it in any way you see fit prior to saving it into your own recipes for later use.
We do have some other interesting things in store as well! Next up on the networking front we’ll be introducing support for a network installer. This will scan existing networks for Windows machines that don’t currently have the Syncro agent installed. Provided you have the admin credentials, and the firewall allows for remote execution, you’ll be able to install the Syncro agent onto them remotely over the network. This one should be coming sometime next month.
