Syncro Announces Discontinuation of Syncro Backups

At Syncro, our goal is to continually deliver the highest-quality MSP Platform for our valued community.  As our products grow and mature, we must also look at our current offerings to ensure they’re meeting not only our high standards but yours as well.

Today, Syncro is announcing the End of Life for our embedded Syncro Backups product.

Syncro Backups will be discontinued on September 1, 2022. After this date, there will be no access to any portion of Syncro Backups.

We strongly encourage all Syncro Backup users to start their replacement plans as soon as possible.

The backend provider for Syncro Backups, Comet, is excited to offer current Syncro Backup customers options:

Syncro will continue to update the community with additional information as it becomes available, and we will continue to reach out to those directly affected by this notice.  At this time, Syncro has no additional information to provide regarding any potential replacement products or integrations.

  • Syncro Backups End of Life Announcement: April 21, 2022
  • Comet Begins Managed Transition for Opt-In Customers: April 22, 2022 – August 31, 2022
  • Final Date for Syncro Backups Data Access: September 1, 2022
  • Removal of Syncro Backups Data: September 2, 2022

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will I have access to my backup data after Syncro Backups is discontinued?

    All data from Syncro Backups will be removed and erased to protect customer privacy immediately following the End of Life on September 2, 2022.

Will I be able to migrate to another backup platform? 

Comet will work with customers to seamlessly transition accounts from Syncro Backups directly to Comet. More information is provided on Comet’s Syncro Migration website.

Will I be able to manage the existing Syncro Backup data from my own shared drive?

    The data encryption used will not allow for the export and hosting of data from another shared drive or provider.

Will Syncro provide recommendations for backup vendors?

    As part of the EOL for Syncro Backups, a transition plan was developed by Comet for existing users.

Will Syncro provide a backup solution for MSPs in the future?

    We are investigating all possible options to provide access to security and backup providers in the future.
