Release 2/14/18: Emsisoft MAV Updates, a New Reporting Feature & Calendar View

Release Update

Hey Syncro Users – Happy Valentine’s Day!

We didn’t get you flowers or a box of chocolates this year. Instead we got you something just as sweet: more Syncro updates!

Here’s a list of everything we’ve been working on over the last couple weeks.

What’s New with Emsisoft + Syncro

Windows Servers Support

We’re happy to share that you can now manage even more devices via your Syncro account, as we now support Emsisoft Managed Antivirus on Windows Servers!

Also, thanks to some helpful feedback from the Syncro user community (that’s you – thank you!), we were able to make some other important improvements to the Emsisoft integration.

To find out how to enable Emsisoft MAV via your Syncro account, view our Help Center article.

Side Note: For those interested in a Bitdefender integration, we are currently beta testing Bitdefender for Syncro and are planning to have it ready for a wider release soon. Stay tuned.

Scan Logs

We added a button to view Emsisoft MAV scan logs.

Integration Improvements

We’ve adjusted our Emsisoft API integration so that your clients will:

  • Only receive a notification popup when a user is within 3 days of losing protection, all other license expiring notifications have been turned off (we automatically renew licenses when they’re within 60 days of expiring, so this should never happen).
  • No longer receive popup notifications to renew a license for free by referring new Emsisoft to new users.
  • No longer be able to read and change their EAM license key.
  • No longer be able to buy an EAM license online via the Emsisoft UI.
  • No longer see the news section at the bottom of the main Overview screen.

Here’s an example of what the license screen previously looked like from your client’s point of view:

Syncro Reporting

We have a variety of report types available which allow you to do anything from view a map of where your clients are located to review profit and loss information.

One of the most useful and well-loved reports we have is the Customer Detail Report. This report shows a history of how many tickets were created for a particular client, what type of tickets they were, who worked on them (and for how long), and how much you were paid for them.

Based on some key feedback from our users, we added the ability to print a PDF of the Customer Detail Report straight from the report page! This makes sharing this report with your clients a breeze.

Here’s how this works:

  1. Log into your Syncro account and head over to the “More” tab on the far right of the top navigation bar.
  2. Click on the “Reports” option and locate the “Customers” section.
  3. Click the “Customer Detail” report link.
  4. Select the date range you would like to pull data from using the “Period” dropdown.
  5. Type the Customer name that you wish to pull the report for.
  6. Click the “Run Report” button.
  7. Click the “PDF” button that now appears in the upper-righthand corner of the page to view the Report in a PDF document.
  8. Follow your browser’s instructions to print the report to share with your client!

Hint: RMM Reports that you can send to your customers coming soon!

Calendar View Preferences Now Automatically Saves as Default View

We’ve added the ability to save your preferred Calendar view as a default, so you no longer have to toggle to your preferred view each time you open your Syncro Calendar.

To see this in action:

  1. Log into your Syncro account and head over to the “More” tab on the far right of the top navigation bar.
  2. Click on the “Calendar” option.
  3. Choose from the traditional calendar view (pictured below) or click the “Toggle View” or “List View” options.
  4. Whatever option was last chosen will appear as the new default view the next time you open your Syncro Calendar.

We’re continuing to iterate and build fast, so be on the lookout for another post highlighting new features and updates soon!
