Hey Syncro Users,

Happy Friday!

Today we’ve released another update to Syncro’s Recurring Invoice system. This is a major improvement that we’ve gotten a lot of feedback about, so we’re excited about implementing this change.

This release is centered around a modification on how Syncro’s Recurring Invoices are generated.

With this update, you can toggle whether or not Recurring Invoices generate with zero line items by checking the option ‘Allow generation of blank invoices’.

Prior to today’s release you were unable to prevent zero dollar Invoices from being created if you had the “Add any pending Ticket charges” or the “Clear/reset prepay hours (before this runs)” option enabled on the Recurring Invoice template, but no other line items listed within the Invoice.

This is a crucial change, particularly when you consider invoicing your contracted clients.

Perhaps you had a month where you didn’t perform billable work for a client, but they are still on a Recurring Invoice through their contract. In the past, you’d have no line items to bill for but Syncro would still generate an invoice. Now, with this change, you can ensure your Recurring Invoice templates without line items won’t continue to generate an invoice.

Please note: If you have this setting disabled, but your Invoice contains zero dollar line items at the time it is generated, the Invoice will still be created at a zero dollar value. This setting works to prevent the creation of Invoices that simply have no line items present.

Again, we want to give a huge shout out to the Syncro community for their continued support and feedback. We hope you enjoy this update!

Cheers,

The Syncro Team
